Remembering dozens of passwords is no fun at all unless you enjoy doing it or have a universal password you apply to anything. A password manager is the most popular type of tool dealing with storing, organizing, and protecting one's password/account collection. Because nobody wants to be robbed by their personal information, having a strong defense barrier is mandatory. Besides a basic login, the extension will offer you access through a master password and a private key.

Maybe you're wondering why would you need additional passwords, instead of a simple log-in? Well, the extension will automatically block access to the UI after a certain time has passed. This security layer protects your data in case you leave your computer open for others to snoop through.

The private key, on the other hand, has a totally different role. This key is the only thing that stands between you and your account. If you are going to change PCs, or access the account from a different machine, you'll have to provide this fairly complicated and long key in order to log in. If this combination is lost, the account is gone. The extension will even offer you the key as a PDF, so make sure you store it in a safe place.

Clean and intuitive layout

Everyone loves when things are kept simple. In this case, the interface is made up of two main parts, the central window, and the sidebar. Everything an entry contains will be displayed on the central panel. In case you don't have a sidebar category selected, the preview area will list the total number of vaults and passwords contained inside. Also, a strength gauge will show you how many weak, strong, or repetitive passwords you have.

Add new entries with ease

Storing data is done using entries. Each new entry can be configured using a name, an e-mail address, a password, the website it's intended for, or any other additional information. Once created, an entry can be sent to a vault, which can also be created on the spot, these helping with better organizing your entries.

All in all

MultiPassword for Chrome seems like a decent and powerful password manager. Even if bigger and tougher names are making up the competition, this extension looks like it can hold its ground. In the end, it's all about preferences.
